Persicaria amplexicaulis 'White Elephant'

Persicaria amplexicaulis 'White Elephant'

A seedling here from subsp. pendula that no doubt has ‘Alba’ as the pollen parent, and it’s the best of both, with extra- sinuous white tapers held horizontally, with the curving intensifying over the flowering season. It’s reminiscent of Chris Ghyselen’s ‘Pink Elephant’ (hence the name variant) with longer flowers in a hardier package. Striking against a darker backdrop. It won’t appeal to all, which is good, as we don’t have many to offer. Plants in sun have been a compact 24”, but plants in shade have been a willowy 3+’ Quart pot. This plant ships no sooner than mid-March.
