Hydrangea sargentiana
Hydrangea sargentiana
$16.00
This distinctive species has only been collected twice in the wild since 1907. Beyond this, part of its scarcity in commerce is that it’s not a great nursery plant, and doesn’t offer the number of cuttings one would otherwise associate with the genus. Seed is an answer, but Hydrangea are obligatory outcrossers, meaning that OP seed would likely produce miscegenated plants. These plants are from seed resulting from hand pollinating two clones of sargentiana, and should be relatively typical and uniform, with the dense trichomes that are a hallmark and large, coarse, sandpaper like foliage. Shade to part shade and protection from late spring frosts with adequate H20 during the growing season. Quart pot
