Though there are already far too many named Sanguisorba, there remain far too few with truly outstanding garden habits. One of our favorites for upstanding performance is S. parviflora, but it’s a plant that doesn’t divide quickly and can take some time to establish into a sizeable presence from seed. The end of its flowering season occasionally overlaps with the beginning of S. tenuifolia, and excellent results can arise from the rendez-vous. This is one such result, forming dense, upright mounds with an extravagance of flowering stems exponentially greater than typical for either parent, dripping with white tassels in July. 5’ Quart pot
