Collected on the Kii Peninsula on Honshu in 1997 by Hinkley et al, and probably the hardiest collection of this section of the genus in cultivation. Compact plants hold terminal white sterile florets with the rounded sepals typical of this section, surrounding fragrant white fertile flowers on old wood in late spring.
